MINISTER SOCIAL WELFARE RAJENDRA PAL GAUTAM INAUGURATED MEGA JOB FAIR AT CONVENTION CENTER, NDMC

ONE OF IT’S KIND PROGRAMME GIVING PLACEMENT OPPORTUNITIES TO APPROX 450 TRAINEES IN IT’S INAUGURAL YEAR.

INITIATIVE STARTED BY SOCIAL WELFARE & WCD DEPARTMENT IN COLLABORATION WITH NSDC, KNOWN AS DELHI SKILL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME.

UNDER THIS PROGRAM AT LEAST TWO SKILL DEVELOPMENT CENTRES WILL BE OPENED IN EVERY DISTRICT OF DELHI.

• Minister Social Welfare Rajendra Pal Gautam inaugurated a job fair which is being organized on 19 September at convention centre NDMC for providing placement opportunities to the trainees who are undergoing the training in the centre. The number of such trainees is approximately 450. The fair is being organised by Social Welfare & WCD department in collaboration with NSDC
(National Skill Development Centre).

This special program is known as Delhi Skill Development Programme.

This program aims to provide opportunities for skill development to the youth of Delhi in Health and Hospitality Sectors various job roles like general duty assistant, food and beverage stewards, front office associates and emergency medical technicians.

At present the programs are being conducted at the Tilak Nagar, Geeta colony, East of kailash, Sundar Nagari, Madipur, Rohini and Dwarka old Palam road.

The department has plans to conduct at least 20 skill development training centres in all over Delhi for the benefit of the youth of the marginalized sections of the society.

Under this program at least two skill development centres will be opened in every district of Delhi.

The program also provides opportunities for job placements to the youth of Delhi in private sectors by organising job fairs after completion of their training program enabling them to earn better for smooth livelihood.

The department has also launched a dedicated segment on the social welfare department website by the name Delhi Skill Development Programme where in prospective trainees may enrole in the forth coming scheduled Skill Training Programs at various locations and in various job roles. Total job placements were given 267 students after successful completion of the training.

The MOU was also exchanged between Secretary Social Welfare and Head of NSDC.

The Minister encouraged the trainees and appreciated this new initiative of department of social welfare and wcd wholeheartedly.
