AAP National Convenor and Delhi CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal took out a massive Tiranga Yatra in Jaipur on Monday. The yatra that also saw the presence of AAP’s Punjab CM Sardar Bhagwant Mann commenced at the iconic Sanganeri Gate of the pink city and concluded at the Ajmeri Gate near Bapu Bazaar. During the yatra, CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal pitched for an honest government in the state, highlighting the misrule of the last three decades. He hit out at the BJP and the Congress for running the government in Rajasthan in alliance and said that a vote for either party eventually boils down & brings the same problems for the people of the state. He further added that it is a “Vasundara Raje-Ashok Gehlot” government in Rajasthan and they loot the government exchequer one after the other. Sharing his vision for the state, the AAP Convenor said, “BJP and Congress have forgotten the public, the model of Delhi and Punjab now needs to be brought to Rajasthan. Rajasthan too can get brilliant schools and hospitals, you just need to vote AAP to power.”

Highlighting that the Congress has been in power in Rajasthan for 48 years and BJP for 18 years since Independence, Shri Arvind Kejriwal said that there still exists massive poverty and issues such as farmer suicides are on the rise. He highlighted other key issues faced by the people of the state such as high unemployment, high inflation and paper leaks in government exams. He urged the people to vote for AAP this time around for a change and promised to bring the development that can be seen in Delhi and Punjab.

He said that both the BJP and the Congress have been alternatively in power since 1993 in the state and have further looted the public and made the lives of citizens miserable. “When the BJP is in power, the leaders of the Congress party scream about corruption and the people vote for the Congress hoping that they will punish the corrupt BJP leaders. But after that nothing happens. The BJP government has never arrested a single Congress leader over allegations of corruption in the state and vice versa. Both parties have an understanding between them and they loot the public together,” he said.

Shri Arvind Kejriwal said that Aam Aadmi Party has no such setting with any other political party and said that the only setting it has is with the people of the state. He added that it is because of the love of the people that AAP leaders gain their strength. He thanked the supporters who had gathered for the road show and highlighted that several of them had walked hundreds of kilometres to be present here on this occasion.

Attacking the alliance between the BJP and the Congress in the state, he said that earlier in Delhi also both these parties had an unspoken alliance. For five years the Congress would rule and then the next five years it would be the BJP. But he said that when AAP formed the government in Delhi in 2015, it wiped out this alliance. He reminded the people that Congress won zero seats that time and the BJP had got only three seats out of seventy.

He said that it was the same situation in Punjab before the Bhagwant Mann-led AAP government was formed in March last year. “The BJP and the Shiromani Akali Dal alliance would once form the government and the next time it would be the Congress party. But when the jhaadu came to Punjab, it wiped them out and AAP won 92 out of 117 seats in the state.”

The Delhi CM pointed out that the AAP governments in Delhi and Punjab have brought about a revolution and transformed government schools and hospitals and this is the reason the Central Government has targeted the Delhi education and health ministers and put them in jail on false charges. “Shri Manish Sisodia was jailed only because he was providing good quality education to the children of poor families. The BJP and the Congress governments have never been able to fix government schools. After 75 years of Independence there was one person who was able to fix government schools of Delhi and these people were not able to digest it and they got him jailed,” he said.

Highlighting the AAP model of governance, Shri Arvind Kejriwal said that it will soon be a year since the AAP government was formed in Punjab and the state government has in this time period built good schools and hospitals and provided free electricity and water to the people of the state. He also highlighted that 500 Mohalla Clinics have been built and over 27,000 government jobs have been provided to the citizens of the state, apart from contractual appointments being made permanent. He added that the people of Rajasthan also desire such a model of governance and asked the crowd gathered at the occasion to reach out to their family members and urged them to vote for AAP in the upcoming state assembly elections.

He also pointed out that the state units of the BJP and the Congress in the state are facing problems and said that the members are fighting amongst each other for the Chief Minister’s chair. He said that such leaders can never work for the people and are only interested in becoming the CM. He also said that there is a “great friendship” between Vasundhara Raje and Ashok Gehlot and they like to alternatively come into power and loot the state. “There was a time recently when there were news reports that the BJP was looking for another CM face besides Vasundhara Raje in the state. Ashok Gehlot and his party workers came out publicly in the support of Vasundhara Raje. Such is the understanding between these two political parties,” he said.

Shri Arvind Kejriwal said that leaders such as Sardar Bhagwant Mann and himself do not know how to do politics and their only intention is to bring about a change in society. He informed the people that if they want a politics of corruption, then they should vote for the BJP or the Congress. But if the people wanted a government that builds good schools and hospitals and provides free electricity and water to the citizens, then they should vote for AAP.

The Delhi CM concluded by saying that when BJP calls for a double-engine ‘sarkaar’, it is basically a code word for double corruption. “Recently, I had gone to Karnataka where earlier the Congress party was known to indulge in corruption in which 20 percent of the cost of the project had to be given to their leaders as bribe money. But when the BJP government came into power in the state, it became 40 percent. So, this is what they mean when they call for a double engine sarkaar, the corruption will be double under such a government,” he said.
