The Delhi Government under leadership of CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal is working on a war footing to provide the best health facilities to all the citizens of Delhi and to strengthen the public health infrastructure. In view of this, Health Minister Shri Raaj Kumar Anand conducted a surprise inspection at the Delhi State Cancer Institute and the Institute of Human Behaviour and Allied Sciences (IHBAS) at Dilshad Garden on Tuesday. During the inspection, the Health Minister visited various wards and OPDs of both the hospitals. Further, the Health Minister interacted with the patients undergoing treatment in these institutions, and inquired about their health besides checking the medical arrangements closely. The Health Minister directed the hospitals to remove clutter in the institutions and to provide affordable & quality health facilities to the patients.

Shri Raaj Kumar Anand paid a surprise visit at the Delhi State Cancer Institute in Dilshad Garden on Tuesday morning to take stock of medical arrangements. The Health Minister visited different wards and inspected the treatment procedures of cancer patients. He advised the hospital officials to remove the hindrances coming in the way of the treatment of cancer patients and to provide immediate relief to the patients.
“At present, cancer has emerged as a dreaded disease, which can occur at any age. If we have to make the country a cancer-free nation, then first of all we have to speed up public awareness programs to eradicate the myths and distorted mindset related to this disease”, Health Minister Shri Raaj Kumar Anand said. He added, “The Kejriwal government’s aim is to give better life to cancer patients. Affordable and quality cancer treatment is being made available by Delhi government in Delhi State Cancer Institute.”

Shri Raaj Kumar Anand reached the Institute of Human Behavior and Allied Sciences (IHBAS) to take stock of the health arrangements. The Health Minister interacted with the patients and inquired about their health and arrangements. However, patients seemed to be satisfied with the hospital services. No patient or attendant made any complaint of any kind. He inquired about the various facilities of the institute including emergency services (psychiatry and neurology), neuro-imaging services (CT scan), neurology ward, and ICU.

Health Minister Shri Raaj Kumar Anand said, “The Delhi government under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal is providing all possible help to the institute for its development. In order to improve the operation of OPD in IHBAS, a new Queue Management System (Queue Management System) will start within a month.”

He added that the Kejriwal government is continuously working towards providing quality health services to all the people of Delhi. Hospitals are being revamped to make Delhi’s health infrastructure among the best in the world. Our aim is to make Delhi government hospitals, the best in the whole country. Following the instructions of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, the treatment facility is being made more accessible in the hospitals of Delhi. Besides, the existing hospitals are being air-conditioned by making necessary changes.
