Senior AAP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh, addressing a massive Jansabhas on Friday, urged Delhiites to vote for the ‘jhadu’ (AAP’s electoral symbol). Jan Sabha in to rally support behind Manish Sisodia (Jangpura), Deepak Singla (Vishwas Nagar), and Gopal Rai (Babarpur), he said, “Press the broom button and gain ₹35,000 monthly.”
Sanjay Singh highlighted how Arvind Kejriwal’s government saves every household ₹25,000 through free electricity, water, education, healthcare, and bus travel for women. He assured that, once re-elected, every woman will receive ₹2,100 monthly. Taking potshots at the BJP, he said, “Despite distributing cash, sarees, blankets, and shoes, they face a crushing defeat in Delhi.”
Senior AAP leader and MP Sanjay Singh asserted that the people are the true custodians of democracy. “It is you who decide who becomes an MLA, MP, minister, chief minister, or even the prime minister,” he said.
He emphasized that across Delhi, people are saying that Arvind Kejriwal is set to return as chief minister. “If Arvind Kejriwal is forming the government, then every constituency must elect his MLA as well,” he added.
Taking a strong swipe at the BJP, he said, “They have no work apart from hurling abuses all day. One moment they are abusing Arvind Kejriwal, the next they are targeting Manish Sisodia. PM Narendra Modi has created an army of abusers.”
Criticizing the BJP’s governance, he remarked, “They cannot build good schools for your children, nor can they ensure a better future for India because their only mindset is conflict and chaos. I told PM Modi that he should rename his party to ‘Bhartiya Jhagda Party’ because all their leaders do is fight and abuse. Meanwhile, Kejriwal works for the people of Delhi.”
Sanjay Singh reaffirmed Arvind Kejriwal’s guarantee that starting February 8, every woman in Delhi will receive ₹2,100 per month as a ‘Samman Rashi’. Comparing Arvind Kejriwal’s governance with Narendra Modi’s, he said, “On one hand, Arvind Kejriwal is putting money into women’s accounts. On the other, PM Modi snatched away their savings through demonetization. PM Modi looted your money, and now it’s time to sweep the BJP away with the broom.”
Highlighting Arvind Kejriwal’s welfare schemes, he said, “Every household in Delhi saves ₹25,000 every month through free electricity, water, education, healthcare, pilgrimage for the elderly, and free bus travel for women. With the new schemes, families will now benefit by an additional ₹10,000. That means if you press the broom button, you gain ₹35,000. But if you press the lotus, you lose ₹35,000.”
Taking a jibe at the BJP’s election tactics, he said, “They are distributing sarees, blankets, and cash. In the New Delhi constituency, they are even handing out shoes. People are saying their karma is so bad that they have already started distributing shoes themselves.”
He further emphasized the symbolic importance of the jhadu (broom), saying, “A broom is useful everywhere—whether to clean a shop, a house, a neighborhood, or to sweep Delhi clean of the BJP. We also need to use it to drive out the arrogance that has taken hold of BJP leaders.”
Taking potshots at BJP’s recent electoral losses, he said, “They keep singing that they brought Lord Ram, but it seems even Lord Rama is upset with them. That’s why they were defeated in Ayodhya, Ambedkar Nagar, Kushbhavanpur, Sultanpur, Kaushambi, Prayagraj, Chitrakoot, Rampur, and Sitapur. Wherever Lord Ram passed, the BJP lost. Now, it’s Delhi’s turn to defeat them.”
Urging voters to reject divisive politics, he said, “Do not fall into the trap of Hindu-Muslim polarization. Every section of Delhi is united in one slogan—‘Na batie, na katie, sab milkar BJP ko raptie’ (Don’t be divided, don’t be misled, unite to defeat the BJP).” Ending on a punchy note, he said, “On February 5, press the broom button so many times that the machine goes ‘ping’ and the BJP goes ‘cheenng’!”
Addressing the Jansabha , the AAP MP took a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s past remarks, saying, “In a rally in Uttar Pradesh, Modi told the youth that he would give them jobs through cow dung. Their minds are filled with cow dung—how can they ever provide employment?”
Criticizing the BJP’s priorities, he added, “PM Modi once said that if villages have cemeteries, they should also have cremation grounds. These people only want to build crematoriums, while AAP is a party that builds schools and hospitals. That is why every AAP candidate must win with a massive majority.”
Reaffirming AAP’s track record, Sanjay Singh said, “We have fulfilled every promise we made. Arvind Kejriwal made water bills zero, provided free pilgrimage for the elderly, and made bus travel free for women. He also ensured free education and healthcare. On one hand, the BJP thrives on lies; on the other, AAP works to provide real benefits to the people.”
Meanwhile, AAP senior leader and Jangpura candidate Manish Sisodia dismissed Congress’s chances in Delhi, saying, “Congress is not winning anywhere in Delhi. Voting for them only strengthens BJP’s goondaism.” He added, “Every child in Delhi is saying that Arvind Kejriwal’s government is returning. Even the BJP has accepted this reality. Now they are only hoping that if AAP loses even two seats, it will save them from complete humiliation.”
Urging voters to ensure a decisive mandate, Manish Sisodia warned, “If Delhi is electing Arvind Kejriwal as Chief Minister, then every constituency must elect an AAP MLA. Don’t make the mistake of voting for a non-AAP candidate out of personal friendships or local considerations, only to regret it later when they turn your constituency into hell for the next five years.”
Manish Sisodia warned voters against electing BJP candidates, saying, “If a BJP candidate wins, he will ensure that no development work happens. He was already notorious, but now that he has joined BJP, everyone knows he will resort to hooliganism. Don’t vote for goondaism.”
He further stated, “Voting for Congress is also equivalent to supporting hooliganism. Everyone knows Congress is not winning anywhere in Delhi. Their only goal is to cut AAP’s votes and help BJP win. The more votes Congress takes away, the more BJP benefits.”
Manish Sisodia called out the BJP for working against Delhi’s ‘jhuggi’ dwellers, saying, “What relationship does BJP have with Delhiites? Their only agenda is to demolish slums and hand over the land to their rich friends. In the last ten years, Arvind Kejriwal has ensured that not a single slum was demolished in Delhi. But the moment they jailed us, BJP demolished the Sunder Nursery slums.”
He added, “BJP’s dream is to erase every slum and give the land to their 100-200 billionaire cronies. But we will stand with slum dwellers in every battle. If they bring bulldozers, they will have to go through us first.”
Manish Sisodia assured voters that if he remains an MLA and Arvind Kejriwal forms the government, “I will continue to be in the government, ensuring that every citizen gets the same importance as a minister. If anyone calls a government office with a problem, their work will be done as quickly as if I had made the request myself.”
He promised to address issues related to sewer systems, water supply, and parks, adding, “In Nizamuddin Basti, people will be able to hold functions at Musafir Thana Park without any obstruction from officials. The weekly Peer Market, which was shut down, will be restarted—but for that, you must press the broom symbol.”
Manish Sisodia pledged to build a world-class school in Nizamuddin, stating, “I have already identified the land for it. If you want quality education for your children, elect an AAP government and MLA.”
He highlighted AAP’s urban redevelopment efforts, saying, “Chandni Chowk was in ruins, but Arvind Kejriwal transformed it into a world-class tourist destination where even foreigners take photos. Similarly, we will redevelop Daryaganj Market and Lajpat Nagar’s Central Market to global standards. We will make Nizamuddin Basti so beautiful and well-planned that people will visit just to take selfies.”
