On the birth anniversary of social reformist Mahatma Jyotirao Phule, Aam Aadmi paid tributes to his efforts towards women’s emancipation by submitting a petition in police stations across Maharashtra. Aam Aadmi Party has petitioned for formation of village level empowered groups of citizens who may assist the police in ensuring women’s safety. The committee proposed shall have responsibilities such as ensuring legal aid, medical assistance and safety to victims of gender based violent crimes.
According to NCRB data, crimes against women are on a rise and AAP has sought to provide a proactive and actionable plan to ensure that we may switch to preventive actions rather than just post incident curative.
AAP leaders Brigadier Sudhir Sawant, Devendra Wankhede, Dhananjay Shinde, Kishore Mandhyan along with hundreds of volunteers across Maharashtra visited their respective police stations and handed over the petition to the concerned officials.

महात्मा ज्योतिराव फुले यांच्या जयंतीनिमित्त, महाराष्ट्रातील पोलिस ठाण्यांवर ग्रामस्तरीय महिला संरक्षण समित्यांची स्थापना करण्याची आपच्या कार्यकर्त्यांची मागणी
समाज सुधारक महात्मा ज्योतिराव फुले यांच्या जयंतीनिमित्त आम आदमी पक्षाने महाराष्ट्रातील पोलिस ठाण्यांमध्ये निवेदन देऊन महिलांच्या सुरक्षिततेसाठी पोलिसांना प्रयत्न करण्याची मागणी केली. आम आदमी पार्टीने महिलांच्या सुरक्षिततेसाठी पोलिसांची मदत करू शकणारे नागरिकांचे ग्रामस्तरीय गट स्थापन करण्याची विनंती केली आहे.सामुहिक बलात्काराच्या पीडितांना कायदेशीर मदत, वैद्यकीय मदत आणि सुरक्षा सुनिश्चित करणे यासारख्या प्रस्तावित समित्या जबाबदार असाव्या अशी मागणी केली आहे.
एनसीआरबीच्या आकडेवारीनुसार, महिलांवरील गुन्ह्यांची संख्या वाढली आहे आणि महिलांच्या सुरक्षेसाठी कृतीशील कारवाई करण्यासंबंधी योजना उपलब्ध करून देण्याची मागणी केली आहे. केवळ महिला अत्याचाराच्या घटनांचा पंचनामा करणे हे पोलिसांचे काम नसून घटना घडण्याअगोदरच प्रतिबंधात्मक उपाय करण्याची गरज आहे.
महाराष्ट्रातील शेकडो स्वयंसेवकांसह आपच्या नेत्यांनी ब्रिगेडियर सुधीर सावंत, देवेंद्र वानखेडे, धनंजय शिंदे, किशोर मंधन यांसह त्यांच्या वेगवेगळ्या पोलीस ठाण्यांना भेट देऊन संबंधित अधिकाऱ्यांना निवेदन दिले.
