As part of a series dedicated to honoring COVID warriors, the Kejriwal Government in Delhi paid tribute to their services by providing an ex-gratia amount of ₹1 crore to the family of a deceased COVID warrior. Delhi’s Labour Minister Shri Raaj Kumar Anand along with area MLA Mukesh Ahlawat disbursed an ex-gratia of ₹1 crore to the family of Nursing Orderly Shri Sunil Dutt who lost his life in the line of duty at the hospital.

Labour Minister Shri Raaj Kumar Anand stated that the scheme encompasses personnel from different backgrounds, aiming to provide support and care for the families of those who dedicated their lives to protecting people. “The Kejriwal government offers an ex-gratia of ₹1 crore to the families of uniformed personnel residing or deployed in Delhi, who displayed bravery and lost their lives in the line of duty,” he added.

“Delhi is the only state in the entire country that honors the sacrifice of Covid warriors who lost their lives during the pandemic by providing their families with an honorarium of ₹1 crore each. Delhi has many doctors, healthcare workers, police officers, sanitation workers, paramedics, and volunteers,” he said while handing over the cheque to the wife of the deceased Sunil Dutt.

Shri Sunil Dutt had served 23 years in the Health Department as a Nursing Orderly and died due to COVID-19 in 2020. He was survived by his daughter, a son and his wife. At the young age of only 44 years, he lost his life while serving humanity.

Assuring support for the medical assistance of the deceased Sunil Dutt’s son, the minister stated, “the Kejriwal government will make every possible effort for the treatment of the child’s neuro-spinal health problems and assured immediate assistance.”

“Kejriwal’s government stands firm with the citizens of Delhi in every difficult situation and provides support in every adversity. CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal has truly become the son of Delhi who is committed to the welfare of the citizens of Delhi,” Shri Raaj Kumar Anand concluded.
