Senior Aam Aadmi Party leader and Deputy CM of Delhi Shri Manish Sisodia on Friday visited the Ghazipur border to take a stock of the water, toilet and other arrangements. On the other hand, Senior Aam Aadmi Party leader and Delhi Water Minister Shri Satyendar Jain along with MLA and Delhi Jal Board Vice Chairman Shri Raghav Chadha on Friday visited the Singhu Border to take a stock of the water, toilet and other arrangements. Shri Sisodia said that UP government’s oppressive measure to stop drinking water and electricity facilities for the farmers at the protest site is highly condemnable. He mentioned that on the request of farmer leader Rakesh Tikait, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal directed authorities to set up drinking water and toilet facilities for the farmers at the protest site. On the other hand, Shri Jain said that it is utterly shameful how in the instruction of BJP the police have stopped the water tankers of the Kejriwal govt. He said that the BJP is stopping the basic facilities like water, food, toilet and others; being the state government it is our fundamental duty to provide these basics to farmers. Adding to this Shri Chadha said that the farmers of our country are not terrorists or traitors so BJP must stop such dirty politics; Kejriwal govt will ensure all the basic facilities. He said that the BJP has also stopped langar service of Kejriwal govt & deliberately suspended internet so that the Wi-Fi service provided by us doesn’t work.

It is unfortunate that the farmers who feed the nation are branded traitors, the real traitors are the ones who are calling the farmers that –Manish Sisodia

Deputy CM Sisodia said that it is unfortunate that the farmers who feed the nation are branded traitors and violent. It is for the first time in history that nation loving Sikh community is branded as traitors by the people in the central government under the pressure from their ‘capitalist friends’. He said that BJP government at the Centre is ignoring the plight of the millions of farmers to accommodate few capitalists of the country. That is the reason it has resorted to repressive techniques to crush the farmers’ protest.

Deputy CM Sisodia said that what happened on Republic Day was unfortunate. If the central government would have had a dialogue with the farmers two months back, such a situation would not have arisen. He said that this sponsored violence should be investigated and the real guilty should be punished. There should be a proper investigation of the links between the perpetrators of violence and the BJP government.

Deputy CM Sisodia said that instead of blaming farmers for the violence, the central government should pay heed to farmers’ interest and roll back all the three unjust farm laws.

Senior Aam Aadmi Party leader and Delhi Water Minister Shri Jain said, “ Today on behalf of the Delhi government we came here to take stock of the water and toil-related arrangements at the Singhu border. From yesterday we are getting continuous phone calls that in the instruction of the BJP the police has stopped the basic facilities like water. Today when I directed the police to allow the tankers then first they said that there is no restriction on the tankers and they are just doing routine checking. Thereafter they put barricade and stopped the tanker and the police said that there are instructions to stop the water tankers.”

He said, “It is very clear that the top BJP leadership has instructed the police to stop the water tankers. It is unfortunate and very shameful that the BJP leadership is trying to stop the basic necessity of the farmers. Water is a basic need and I want to request the BJP leadership to allow the water. The farmers are our brothers and I want to request the BJP not to play such dirty politics with these poor people.”

Shri Jain said, “The central government and the BJP leadership are behind this shameful decision to stop the water tankers. They want to keep the farmers thirsty and hungry because they think in this way they can break the protest of the farmers. The Kejriwal government believes that when the farmers are in Delhi it is our fundamental duty to provide them with water and provide toilet facilities. I also believe that the BJP should immediately rollback these three anti-farmer laws and they should not deal with the farmers with such an ego.”

The farmers of our country are not terrorists or traitors so BJP must stop such dirty politics; Kejriwal govt will ensure all the basic facilities: Raghav Chadha

AAP MLA and Delhi Jal Board Vice Chairman Shri Raghav Chadha said, “ The farmers of our country are not terrorists. They produce food for the citizens of India. But it is so shameful that today the BJP leadership is not allowing basic facilities like water and food to these protesting farmers. Looking at the situation Delhi Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal has directed us to ensure proper water, food, toilet and other arrangements.”

He said, “ I want to appeal to the BJP that they must not continue this attitude of considering farmers as traitors of our country. The BJP will not get any success to stop the basic facilities to the farmers and the Aam Aadmi Party government will ensure all the basic facilities to the farmers.”

Shri Chadha said, “ The Aam Aadmi Party has strongly condemned what happened in Red Fort on 26th January. But we also believe that the BJP is trying to divert the attention of the people from the real issue. By no means the BJP has the authority to stop the water, food and other arrangements for the farmers. By the instruction of the BJP government the network of the entire area is down and that is why the Wi-Fi set up by the Kejriwal government is not working anymore. The BJP also removed all the toilet facilities from the spot. Getting fresh water and toilet facilities are the basic necessities of every human being and these should not be stopped. From 26 January the police have also stopped the Langar facility provided by the Kejriwal government at the Singhu border. The police have not yet allowed us to start the facility again.”
