In compliance with the directions of Chief Minister, Shri Arvind Kejriwal, the Minister In-charge of Central District, Shri Imran Hussain, inspected the ground situation in flood relief camps at Old Yamuna Bridge & Golden Jubilee Park to ensure that adequate basic facilities are being provided to the flood affected people. Shri Imran Hussain inquired about the ongoing rescue, relief, and rehabilitation efforts at the flood relief camps in the Central Revenue District, focusing on the provision of essential services, food, water, electricity, medical aid, and other necessary facilities.

Amid the rainy season, Shri Imran Hussain visited the flood relief camps at Old Yamuna Bridge & Golden Jubilee Park to assess the preparedness of relief and rescue operations, where the Minister also interacted with the affected people. Flood affected people told that their dwellings are still affected with the flood water. Shri Imran Hussain instructed the officers of all concerned departments to continue to provide necessary facilities including food, drinking water, toilets, medical facilities in the relief camps for relief and rescue work till normalcy returns.

During his visit to the relief camps, Shri Imran Hussain highlighted that the Kejriwal Government is providing all necessary facilities in the relief camps. The Minister observed that adequate arrangements have been made for electricity through power generators and sufficient number of fans have also been installed in flood relief camps keeping in view of the prevailing hot weather conditions. The officers at the relief camp also informed the Minister that the number of people increases in the evening, and appropriate arrangements for food and lodging have been made accordingly.

At the Golden Jubilee park flood relief camp, the F&S Minister interacted with the flood affected people and considering the need of people Shri Imran Hussain instructed the concerned officers to provide adequate drinking water to the flood affected people at least three times in a day. The Minister also emphasized that considering the nutritional needs the food items should be changed in certain intervals for distribution. Shri Imran Hussain encouraged the flood-affected children to attend classes in the nearby schools, where the Kejriwal government has taken all measures to conduct special classes and provide books & stationery items for the children.

Shri Imran Hussain emphasised the need for regular fumigation at the flood relief camp sites as well to prevent vector-borne diseases and safeguard flood-affected people from mosquito-borne diseases. Shri Imran Hussain also added that maintaining cleanliness and proper hygiene within the relief camps has helped prevent skin and other infectious diseases to a great extent.
