Dy CM Manish Sisodia gives the gift of 10 new Mohalla clinics to South Delhi residents on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti
New Delhi: On the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, Shri Manish Sisodia inaugurated two foot over bridges and 10 new Mohalla Clinics in the South Delhi district of Delhi.
The move of the Delhi Government to construct foot over bridges in the two areas of Chirag Delhi and Sheikh Sarai was widely appreciated by the locals. Deputy Chief Minister, Shri Manish Sisodia, along with Shri Satendra Jain, Minster PWD & Health, also laid the foundation stones of two other foot over bridges at Krishi Vihar- Panchsheel Enclave and Select City Walk Mall opposite Khirki Extension. The area which has been highly accident-prone for pedestrians due to the lack of foot over bridges will now have an FOB installed soon. Heaving a sigh of relief, the locals of the area thanked Deputy Chief Minister, Shri Manish Sisodia for flagging off the construction of the much needed FOBs and also removing the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) corridor across what is called the third dangerous road.
Shri Manish Sisodia also inaugurated 10 new Mohalla Clinics in areas like CR Park, Greater Kailash 1, Greater Kailash 2, Shahpur Jat, Khirki Flats, Savitri Nagar, Chirag Delhi and Sheikh Sarai.
Addressing the audience present at the inaugural ceremony today, Shri Manish Sisodia said, “It is a moment of happiness for us as we turn our promises into reality. Often, ministers promise a lot but fail to deliver. So I am really happy that we are actually installing the promised foot over bridges and Mohalla clinics in the Greater Kailash Constituency”
Shri Manish Sisodia also went on to praise the commendable work done by Shri Saurabh Bhardwaj, MLA of Greater Kailash Constituency, for bringing about development in the area. “Today, if we all are here at the inauguration of the mohalla clinics and the foot over bridges, it is because of the honest commitment by Shri Saurabh Bhardwaj. I seriously applaud him for his zit and determination to work and bring about development here, and I would also like to give the credit to the people of Delhi who have voted for an honest politician, an honest MLA like Saurabh Bhardwaj. People have risen above the barriers of caste and religion to vote for an honest government”
These areas fall under the Greater Kailash Constituency of Delhi. Shri Saurabh Bhardwaj, MLA, representing Greater Kailash Constituency in the Delhi State Legislature had also made a public announcement earlier, inviting Delhi residents to be a part of the inaugural event that took place here on Wednesday “It is a big thing that the BRT road which was a cause of various hurdles for us as commuters has been removed finally. Residents of Chirag Delhi and Sheikh Sarai have been eagerly waiting for a foot over bridge to be installed in the areas. Today, with the help of the Delhi Government we are having two foot over bridges installed here on these roads. And you would also be happy to know that areas like Khirki, Chirag Delhi, Savitri Nagar, Shahpur and Greater Kailash will have new Mohalla Clinics coming up. The residents of these areas will now have access to free medical tests and free-of-cost medicines at these Mohalla Clinics. Our hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister Shri Manish Sisodia and Minister of PWD & Health, Shri Satendra Jain will be here with us at Millennium Park, Chirag Delhi on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti- 2nd October, 2019, to inaugurate the Mohalla clinics and the foot over bridges. I invite you all to be here with us on this occasion,” said Shri Saurabh Bhardwaj
The Deputy CM also paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on his 150th birth anniversary . “ Today India is known as Mahatma Gandhi’s country and I am proud of it. I am proud to be known as a citizen of this country where foreigners identify it as Bapu’s country. All this development work that has been taken up here in Delhi or across the nation, it is because people are free to elect a responsible MLA, we have the power to select our representatives who we deem fit to bear the responsibilities of our constituency, state or nation. This is because of Mahatma Gandhi who fought for our freedom. A free India is what he had envisioned and today, we as free citizens have the right to cast our vote for the deserving politicians like Saurabh Bhardwaj,” said Shri Manish Sisodia.
The event started with the inaugural ceremony by the Dy CM which was followed by a variety of dance and music performances at the Millennium Park, Chirag Delhi. The event witnessed a huge turnout of audience along with the esteemed presence of hon’ble ministers. The locals of the Greater Kailash Constituency applauded the move of the Delhi government towards preventing road accidents and installing foot over bridges. The efforts put in by the Delhi Government to provide free healthcare facilities to the residents of Delhi by installing 10 new Mohalla Clinics in the South Delhi district was also well received by people from all corners of the society.
