Government of Delhi is committed to provide best quality health services to the people of Delhi. As part of it, it identified the requirement to provide quality pre-hospital emergency ambulance services to the people of Delhi. Deputy Chief Minister, Shri Manish Sisodia flagged off a fleet of 55 modern & high-tech CATs Ambulances for providing services to the patients in emergency at a function organized at Cannought Place in Delhi today. Rest 55 ambulances will be added in the fleet soon. Prior to this Deputy Chief Minister inaugurated the world class Control Room at Laxmi Nagar in Trans Yamuna area to monitor & provide CATs ambulance services. The control room will have the facility of monitoring as well as mapping the Ambulance Services.

Shri Sisodia also launched a call 102 App. for availing the Services of CATs Ambulances.

Minister of Health, Shri Satyender Jain, Parliamentary Secretaries, a number of MLAs, Chief Secretary, Shri K. K. Sharma were also present on this occasion.

Centralized Ambulance Trauma Services (CATS) (a Society under Health Department, GNCTD) is the nodal agency for the project. In order to provide free emergency ambulance services, CATS has procured 110 new ambulances (100 basic life support, 10 advance life support ambulances). The ambulances have all life saving equipments as per the guidelines. Deputy Chief Minister flagged off 55 Ambulances today.

A modern Control Room has been established in Shakarpur dispensary which is the nerve centre. The control room has provisions to identify the location of the caller, SMS confirmation to the caller, link to track the ambulance allotted, GPS, Computer Aided Dispatch etc. Each ambulance has been provided mobile tablets for easy navigation and to enter the patient details enabling advance notice to the hospitals about patients.

Modules to coordinate with police, fire is also available. The Control Room is ISO certified, tier -2 data centre (equivalent).

In order to provide timely response to citizens, the operation and maintenance of the ambulance services has been outsourced with SLAs. The interest of the existing regular, contractual staff of CATS has not only been fully protected but also enhanced. All paramedics will be trained as per the National Skill Development Council.
