*CM inaugurates Under Ground Reservoir in Rajokari, South Delhi*
· UGR will come as a major relief for the population of the area facing water crisis
Chief Minister of Delhi & Chairman Delhi Jal Board Sh. Arvind Kejriwal on Monday February 11 inaugurated the construction of 5.8 million litres Underground Water Reservoir at Rajokari in South Delhi. The inauguration was also attended by the Vice Chairman of Delhi Jal Board Mr. Dinesh Mohaniya and the local MLA Sh. Naresh Yadav.
The reservoir will come as a boost to the residents of the area who face major crisis of water for last many decades. The Kejriwal government has been trying its best to end the water crisis in all parts of the city and thus has been focusing on ways to let every household have piped connection of water.
The soon to be constructed reservoir is one part of the plan to provide treated water to the residents of Rajokari and Bijwasan area through a comprehensive scheme for construction of UGR’s/BPS of 9.1 million litres capacity at Bijwasan and 5.8 million litres capacity at Rajokari village including feeder mains and distribution mains at a total cost of Rs. 88.50 crores.
The total scheme was divided into three packages for speedy and effective implementation of the scheme.
1. Rajokari UGR (Inaugurated on Monday Feb 11)
2. Bijwasan UGR (Board approval accorded)
3. Feeder & distribution mains (Work already awarded)
All the three parts of the scheme are in the pipeline now. Rajokari UGR has been inaugurated today, Bijwasan UGR has been approved the board & the construction will start soon and the work of laying distribution mains has already been awarded.
It will improve the management of water availability and equitable distribution of water supply in Rajokari and Bijwasan. The cost of the Rajokari UGR is Rs. 17 crore and would be completed in 18-months time from the inauguration.
The new reservoir at Rajokari will get water from Dwarka water treatment plant. Once completed the Rajokari UGR will cater to 1,27,015 residents of the area.

नई दिल्ली। दिल्ली के मुख्यमंत्री और दिल्ली जल बोर्ड के चेयरमैन अरविंद केजरीवाल ने 11 फरवरी, सोमवार को दक्षिणी दिल्ली के रजोकरी में भूमिगत जलाशय (यूजीआर) का उद्घाटन किया। इसकी क्षमता 5.8 मिलियन लीटर है। दिल्ली जल बोर्ड के वाइस चेयरमैन दिनेश मोहनिया और स्थानीय विधायक नरेश यादव भी इस मौके पर मौजूद रहे।
इस क्षेत्र में पिछले कई दशक से पानी की कमी की समस्या से जूझ रहे लोगों के लिए ये भूमिगत जलाशय बहुत मददगार साबित होगा। केजरीवाल सरकार दिल्ली के हर हिस्से में पानी की कमी की समस्या का समाधान खोजने में लगी हुई है। केजरीवाल सरकार की कोशिश है कि हर घर तक पाइप के जरिये पानी का कनेक्शन पहुंचा दिया जाए। रजोकरी और बिजवासन के लोगों के घरों तक पानी पहुंचाने की दिशा में एक बड़े प्रोजेक्ट पर काम किया जा रहा है। इसके तहत बिजवासन में 9.1 मिलियन लीटर की क्षमता वाला यूजीआर/बीपीएस बनाया जाएगा। वहीं, रजोकरी में बनाये जा रहे भूमिगत जलाशय की क्षमता 5.8 मिलियन लीटर है। इन प्रोजेक्ट की लागत 88.50 करोड़ रुपये है। इन दोनों भूमिगत जलाशयों से पानी की आपूर्ति इस पूरे क्षेत्र में पाइप लाइन के जरिये की जा सकेगी। इस पूरे क्षेत्र में लोगों को जल्द से जल्द पाइप लाइन के जरिये घरों तक पानी पहुंचाने की पहल पर तेजी से काम हो रहा है। इसी क्रम में सोमवार को मुख्यमंत्री अरविंद केजरीवाल ने रजोकरी में भूमिगत जलाशय का उद्घाटन किया। बिजवासन में बनाये जाने वाले भूमिगत जलाशय को बोर्ड की तरफ से मंजूरी मिल गई है। बहुत जल्द इसका निर्माण कार्य शुरू हो जाएगा। इसके अलावा बहुत जल्द इस क्षेत्र में घर-घर तक पानी पहुंचाने संबंधी डिस्ट्रीब्यूशन प्रोजेक्ट को भी मंजूरी दे दी गई है। इस पूरे प्रोजेक्ट के लागू हो जाने के बाद रजोकरी और बिजवासन के क्षेत्र में हर घर को पाइप लाइन के जरिये पानी मिल सकेगा।
रजोकरी में भूमिगत जलाशय की कुल लागत 17 करोड़ रुपये है और इसका निर्माण कार्य 18 महीने के भीतर पूरा कर लिया जाएगा। रजोकरी के भूमिगत जलाशय को द्वारका वाटर ट्रीटमेंट प्लांट से पानी मिलेगा। रजोकरी भूमिगत जलाशय का निर्माण कार्य पूरा हो जाने के बाद इस क्षेत्र के 1,27,015 लोगों को फायदा होगा।
