Delhi doesn’t feel the pinch of the economic slowdown as much because of Delhi govt schemes: Shri Arvind Kejriwal

New Delhi: “In this period of economic slowdown, the people of Delhi are not feeling the pinch as much, because of Delhi government’s schemes. We all want the economic situation of Delhi and our country to improve,” said Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal at an event organised by the Chamber of Trade and Industries on Sunday at the NDMC Convention Centre. The awards were given to 36 successful traders and businessmen from Delhi at the hands of CM Kejriwal and Mahashay Dharampal Gulati of MDH group.
Addressing traders, the Chief Minister said, “Trade is slowing down There has been no increase in the salaries but people’s expenses are rising. However, the Delhi government has provided a lot of support to the people of Delhi, so that they do not feel the pinch of the slowdown as much. For instance, we waived off the electricity bills up to 200 units. We provided free water and waived off the old water bills. Now, travelling in a bus will also be free for women.:
Commenting on the state of the economy, the chief minister said, “There is a huge ongoing recession. I came across many traders today, who told me around 30 to 40 percent of the turnover has reduced. I hope the economy will improve soon so that the trade also improves. We appeal to the Central Government to take all necessary steps to improve the economy.”
The CM was also quoted saying, “Our government has always been very sensitive towards traders. I myself belong to a merchant family, and so I can understand the agony, pain and problems of a trader very well. We have always taken care of the interests of the traders. We now have GST coming into force, but in the first two years, the Delhi government had automatically reduced VAT on all items from 12.5 per cent to 5 per cent.”
‘Delhi has made huge strides in infra development’
CM Shri Kejriwal also said that when his government came into power, the water pipeline in Delhi was only 58%, which means only a few percentage of people received tap water, and the rest had water tankers as an option. “93% of Delhi now receives tap water, and the rest 7% of the area has the water pipeline work going on. In a year or two, 100% of Delhi will be covered under water pipeline treatment plan. Our mission is to provide clean and safe tap water to every household in the city,” he said.
“We have worked hard to ensure full-time power in the city. We had to tighten our hold on the power sector companies. I myself went ahead and spent time in the colonies which had power breakdown and made sure it was fixed. I summoned weekly reports mentioning areas with major power breakdowns. I am happy that many transformers around Delhi have been fixed, electricity cables have been changed, and there are no thefts related to electricity. Delhi has access to 24-hour water and electricity now. Apart from that, our government has achieved excellence in the fields of health and education, it has gained us recognition from all-over the world.” Mr. Kejriwal was quoted saying.

मंदी के दौर में हमने दिल्लीवालों की मुसीबतें कम की: श्री अरविंद केजरीवाल
– चैंबर ऑफ ट्रेड एंड इंडस्ट्रीज की तरफ से आयोजित एक सम्मान समारोह में मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि हम सब चाहते हैं कि देश की अर्थव्यवस्था सुधरे, दिल्ली की अर्थव्यवस्था सुधरे।
– मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा, मैं खुद एक व्यापारी परिवार से आता हूं इसलिए व्यापारी की व्यथा, दर्द, समस्याओं को अच्छी तरह समझ सकता हूं।
मंदी के इस दौर में हमारी सरकार ने दिल्लीवालों को काफी सुविधाएं दी हैं, इसलिए उन्हें कुछ कम दिक्कतों का सामना करना पड़ रहा है। हम सब चाहते हैं कि देश की अर्थव्यवस्था सुधरे। दिल्ली की अर्थव्यवस्था सुधरे। दिल्ली के मुख्यमंत्री अरविंद केजरीवाल ने चैंबर ऑफ ट्रेड एंड इंडस्ट्रीज (CTI) की तरफ से आयोजित एक सम्मान समारोह में ये बातें कहीं। इस मौके पर मुख्यमंत्री अरविंद केजरीवाल ने दिल्ली के 36 व्यापारियों को ‘नवरत्न पुरस्कार’ दिए व्यापारियों को सम्मानित भी किया। MDH के महाशय धर्मपाल गुलाटी भी सम्मानित व्यापारियों को आशीर्वाद देते हुए दिखें। नवरत्न पुरस्कार देते हुए मुख्यमंत्री अरविंद केजरीवाल ने सभी व्यापारियों को बधाई दी और कहा व्यापारी ही दिल्ली की अर्थव्यवस्था की रीड की हड्डी है।
व्यापारियों को संबोधित करते हुए मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि कारोबार मंदा है। सैलरी बढ़ नहीं रही। खर्चे बढ़ते जा रहे हैं। लेकिन हमारी सरकार ने दिल्लीवालों को काफी सुविधाएं दी हैं, इसलिए लोगों को थोड़ी कम दिक्कत हो रही है। जैसे, हमने बिजली के बिल 200 यूनिट तक माफ कर दिये। पानी फ्री कर दिया। पानी के पुराने बिल माफ कर दिया। अब महिलाओं के लिए बस में सफर भी फ्री हो जाएगा।
मुख्यमंत्री श्री केजरीवाल ने कहा अभी बहुत ज्यादा मंदी का दौर है। आज भी मैं कई व्यापारियों से मिला हूं। वह कह रहे थे कि 30 से 40 फीसदी तक कारोबार डाउन हो गया है। मैं उम्मीद करता हूं कि जल्दी अर्थव्यवस्था सुधरेगी। व्यापारियों का व्यापार भी सुधरेगा। हम केंद्र सरकार से अपील करते हैं कि जो भी कदम उठाने की जरूरत है, वो सभी कदम उठाए।
‘व्यापारियों को लेकर हमारी सरकार हमेशा से बहुत संवेदनशील रही है’
श्री अरविंद केजरीवाल ने कहा, व्यापारियों को लेकर हमारी सरकार हमेशा से बहुत संवेदनशील रही है। मैं खुद एक व्यापारी परिवार से आता हूं इसलिए व्यापारी की व्यथा, दर्द, समस्याओं को अच्छी तरह समझ सकता हूं। उसको मार्केट को भी देखना पड़ता है। हमने हमेशा व्यापारियों के हितों का ख्याल रखा। अब तो GST लागू हो गया, लेकिन शुरू के दो साल में हमने कई सारे आइटम्स पर अपने आप VAT कम कर दिया था। हमने सारे आइटम्स पर वैट को 12.5 फीसदी से घटाकर 5 फीसदी तक कर दिया था। इसके अलावा हमने दिल्ली में रेड राज खत्म कर दिया।
‘दिल्ली में हमने इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर पर भी बहुत काम किया है’
मुख्यमंत्री ने ये भी कहा कि जब हमारी सरकार बनी थी, तब केवल 58 फीसदी दिल्ली में पानी की पाइप लाइन थी। यानी 58 फीसदी में टोंटी से पानी आता था बाकी जगह टैंकरों से पानी जाता था। अब 93 फीसदी दिल्ली के अंदर टोंटी से पीने का पानी आने लगा है। बाकी 7 फीसदी दिल्ली में भी पानी की पाइप लाइन बिछाने का काम चल रहा है। साल-दो साल में 100 फीसदी दिल्ली पानी के पाइप लाइन से कनेक्ट हो जाएगी। अभी कहीं-कहीं 1-2 घंटे पानी आता है। लेकिन हमने जो प्लान बना रखे हैं उससे अगले 4-5 साल में दिल्ली में हर घर को टोंटी से पीने का साफ पानी उपलब्ध करा देंगे।
श्री अरविंद केजरीवाल ने कहा कि बिजली के मामले में याद करें तो पहले दिल्ली में बिजली की भारी कटौती होती थी। बिजली को लेकर दो-ढाई साल हम खूब जूझे हैं। बिजली कंपनियों पर काफी सख्ती की। जिन कॉलोनियों में बिजली कटती थी, मैं वहां खुद जाकर बैठ जाता था, सबको वहीं बुला लिया करता था कि यहां की बिजली तुरंत ठीक करो। इसके अलावा हर सप्ताह रिपोर्ट लिया करता था कि कहां-कहां बिजली की कटौती हुई। अब मुझे खुशी है कि पिछले चार-पांच साल में बहुत सारे ट्रांसफॉर्मर बदले हैं, ट्रांसफॉर्मर ठीक किये हैं, केबल बदले हैं, बिजली की चोरी बंद की है, अब दिल्ली में 24 घंटे बिजली आनी चालू हो गई है। इसके अलावा शिक्षा और स्वास्थ्य के क्षेत्र में बहुत शानदार काम हुआ है जिसकी चर्चा देश में ही नहीं पूरी दुनिया में है।
