AAP Punjab government adopted a zero-tolerance approach towards corruption, as expected from a party born from the anti-corruption movement. The people of Punjab in turn responded in a rousing manner to the Anti-Corruption Helpline number, set-up in March 2022. 

“The Aam Aadmi Party government won’t bear corruption at any level. We will make Punjab corruption-free. Be it a government employee or even my own party MLA, no one will be spared. Anyone can file the complaint against corruption on the dedicated WhatsApp number launched today.” – Bhagwant Mann, Punjab Chief Minister

With the aim of making Punjab into a corruption-free state, arrests were made across the board including government officials, police personnel, former MLAs and even current AAP MLAs. The Vigilance Bureau made a record breaking number of arrests

Investigations were ordered against the likes of Dinesh Basi, former Chairman Municipal Improvement Trust, and Sadhu Singh Dharamsot, former Forest Minister. Probes were also ordered into the Moga Wheat Scam, Chit Fund Scam, Food Grain transport scam, to name a few and even land deals by earlier governments. The Chief Minister even sacked his own Health Minister, Vijay Singla.
