Senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and Rajya Sabha MP Shri Sanjay Singh called for Prime Minister Narendra Modi to show his educational degree to the public. He raised questions about whether the Prime Minister is ruling the country with a fake degree. He also expressed disappointment at the BJP for trying to divert the people’s attention from the issue at hand. He emphasised that the public has the right to be informed about their Prime Minister’s educational qualifications.

Shri Sanjay Singh said that while an individual may be uneducated because of their economic circumstances. He highlighted the far-reaching consequences of PM Narendra Modi’s unscientific and dismissive decisions and statements about national security, economy, global warming, and international relations, among other issues, and said that these raise questions about his credibility and competence. The AAP leader emphasised that it is not a crime to ask for anyone’s degree and called for public figures to be transparent about their qualifications.

The Gujarat High Court on Friday had set aside a 2016 order of the Central Information Commission (CIC) directing Gujarat University to provide details of PM Modi’s M.A. degree to Delhi Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal, imposing a fine of Rs 25,000 over this suit.

The senior AAP leader said, “It is just strange that Shri Arvind Kejriwal is being fined for asking about the Prime Minister’s degree. The public has a legitimate expectation to be informed about the educational qualifications of their Prime Minister. After all, the Prime Minister was elected by 1.4 billion people to lead the country, and it’s only reasonable that they should have access to information about the leader’s academic background.”

Shri Sanjay Singh also addressed the recent statement made by the Chief Minister of Delhi, Shri Arvind Kejriwal, that a person can be undereducated because of their economic conditions, and it may not be a problem. “One’s educational background does not define one’s potential, but the words and choices of India’s Prime Minister carry great weight and can affect the future of a whole nation. If the person sitting on the post of Prime Minister of the country starts giving unscientific advice to the army during a crisis, it becomes a dangerous thing and puts the security of the country at risk. PM Narendra Modi is known for providing false scientific information and using the same as the basis for extremely sensitive decisions with potentially far-reaching consequences for the country, such as authorising airstrikes despite unfavourable weather conditions, claiming that clouds could hide Indian planes from Pakistani radar,” he said.

Criticising the PM for touting the Agnipath scheme as a game-changer. He said, “The decision to reduce the training period for the Indian Army is very concerning, as it could weaken the capabilities of our armed forces. Such decisions have far-reaching consequences for our safety and security and should be made with careful consideration and expertise, as they affect the future of our country and its people.”

The Rajya Sabha MP also expressed shock at PM Modi’s dismissive statements about global warming, stating that such remarks are an embarrassment for India and its Prime Minister on the international stage. “It is veritably concerning that our Prime Minister and the BJP seem to trivialise important global issues like climate change, which could have a very serious impact on India’s well-being and reputation. His dismissive attitude and lack of transparency about their qualifications raise serious questions about his credibility and competence,” he said.

He also highlighted how the Indian Prime Minister’s statement about making tea from drain gas made Indians a laughing stock. He then criticised the irrational decisions of PM Narendra Modi, such as demonetisation, the GST law, the three farm bills, etc., which he said had ruined the country’s economy and the agriculture sector. Shri Sanjay Singh also referred to PM Narendra Modi’s infamously ridiculous statement in Toronto in 2015, describing ties between India and Canada using the analogy of the mathematical formula (a + b)2. Referring to Prime Minister Modi’s claim that Alexander was defeated in Bihar, he clarified that Alexander had never reached Bihar.

He added, “The people are worried when such statements come from the Prime Minister. It raises questions about his education and competence and whether the country’s economy, agriculture, military, youth, and future are safe in his hands.”

Addressing the accusation levelled by BJP spokesperson Shri Sudhanshu Trivedi today at CM Arvind Kejriwal of trying to divert attention from other issues, the senior AAP leader argued that it is not a crime to ask for anyone else’s degree when they are appointed for any job or post, He asked, “Why is it considered a crime to ask for the degree of the Prime Minister of the country? If Shri Arvind Kejriwal is trying to divert attention, then I welcome PM Narendra Modi to immediately show his degree in front of the country and end the ruckus.” He argued that, as public figures, they should be transparent about their qualifications. “The Prime Minister can also, in turn, demand that Shri Arvind Kejriwal or any leader of the Aam Aadmi Party should show their degree. We would indeed be very proud to share it,” he said.

Shri Sanjay Singh argued, “The way the BJP leaders are furious and giving statements across the country, it seems that the Prime Minister’s degree may be fake.” He criticised the Prime Minister for not showing his degree and accused him of destroying the country’s economy, security, and the future of the country’s youth. He emphasised that the people of this country have the right to know about the Prime Minister’s degree, and it is not a crime to ask for it. Referring to PM Narendra Modi’s earlier claims that he had done his MA in ‘Entire Political Science’ from Gujarat University, the senior AAP leader said, “The only person in the world who has this amazingly unique and bizarre degree is our Prime Minister! It would be a source of great pride for our nation if the Prime Minister were to share this degree with the public.” He concluded by urging the Prime Minister to present his degree immediately.
