दिल्ली में होटल इंडस्ट्री को बर्बाद होने से बचाने के लिए उन्हें खोलने की अनुमति मिलने के बाद होटल एसोसिएशन के पदाधिकारियों ने आज मुख्यमंत्री अरविंद केजरीवाल से मुलाकात कर उनका आभार जताते हुए धन्यवाद दिया। इस दौरान सीएम अरविंद केजरीवाल ने कहा कि दिल्ली की अर्थव्यवस्था को मजबूती प्रदान करने के लिए सभी हितधारकों को एक साथ आना होगा। उन्होंने कहा कि जब दिल्ली में कोरोना के केस तेजी से बढ़ रहे थे, तब हमने बेड बढ़ाने के लिए कई होटलों को अस्पतालों के साथ संबद्ध किया। इस दौरान होटल इंडस्ट्रर का बहुत साथ मिला। हमने केंद्र सरकार, राजनीतिक विरोधियों, दोस्तों, धार्मिक व सामाजिक संस्थाओं को साथ लेकर स्थिति को नियंत्रित करने में सफलता हासिल की। मुझे खुशी है कि जब से हमने लाॅकडाउन खोला, तब से हमने दिल्ली के अंदर किसी भी रूप में दोबारा लाॅकडाउन नहीं किया।
होटल एसोएिशन के पदाधिकारियों से मुलाकात के दौरान मुख्यमंत्री अरविंद केजरीवाल ने कहा कि हमारे सामने पहली सबसे बड़ी चुनौती यह है कि कैसे इस कोरोना महामारी को रोका जाए और दूसरी चुनौती यह है कि इस महामारी से जिन लोगों के काम-धंधे बंद हो गए हैं, लोगों के रोजगार चले गए हैं और अर्थ व्यवस्था को कैसे बढ़ाया जाए? इसमें सामंजस्य स्थापित करना बहुत जरूरी है। सीएम अरविंद केजरीवाल ने दिल्ली के होटल इंडस्ट्री का धन्यबाद करते हुए कहा कि जब कोरोना बहुत ज्यादा बढ़ गया था, तब हमने बेड बढ़ाने के लिए होटल को अस्पतालों के साथ संबद्ध किया था। यह बहुत ही जरूरी था, क्योंकि एकदम से इतने बेड अस्पतालों में नहीं बढ़ाए जा सकते थे। इस दौरान होटल इंडस्ट्री का बहुत साथ मिला था। हमने हमेशा यह कोशिश की कि सभी को साथ लेकर चला जाए। चाहे हमारे राजनैतिक विरोधी थे, चाहे हमारे दोस्त थे, हमने सभी तरह की राजनीति को एक तरफ करके कोशिश की कि सभी को साथ लेकर चलें। हमने सुना था कि कई ऐसे शहर थे, जहां प्राइवेट अस्पताल वाले अपने अस्पताल पर ताला लगाकर भाग गए थे। उनका कहना था कि जब कोरोना ठीक हो जाएगा, तो दोबारा अस्पताल खोल लेंगे। लेकिन हमने दिल्ली में प्राइवेट अस्पताल वालों को भी साथ लिया, उनकी जो वास्तविक समस्याएं थी, उनका समाधान किया। हमारा अस्पताल वालों ने भी साथ दिया और होटल वालों ने भी साथ दिया। धार्मिक और सामाजिक संस्थाओं ने भी सहयोग दिया। इसके साथ ही केंद्र सरकार से भी हमें खूब सहयोग मिला। जब भी हमने केंद्र सरकार से कोई मदद मांगी, उन्होंने हमें मदद दी।
सीएम अरविंद केजरीवाल ने कहा कि आज दिल्ली में कोरोना की स्थिति काफी नियंत्रण में आ गई है। मुझे सबसे बड़ी खुशी इस बात की है कि जब एक जून से केंद्र सरकार ने लाॅकडाउन खोलने का ऐलान किया, उन्हीं की गाइडलाइंस के आधार दिल्ली सरकार ने भी लाॅकडाउन खोलने का ऐलान किया, तब से हमने दिल्ली के अंदर किसी भी रूप में दोबारा लाॅकडाउन नहीं किया। हमने इसलिए भी दोबारा लाॅकडाउन नहीं किया, क्योंकि इसके लिए हम लोगों ने बहुत ही गहराई से योजना बनाई थी। हमने एक जून को लाॅकडाउन खोला, तो 15 से 20 दिन तक लगा था कि स्थिति काबू के बाहर जा रही है, लेकिन सभी लोगों का साथ लेकर स्थिति को नियंत्रण में किया गया। होटल खोलने की बात पर केंद्र सरकार ने काफी विरोध किया था। केंद्र सरकार नहीं चाहती थी कि होटल अभी खुलें। मैं केंद्र सरकार को दोष नहीं दूंगा, क्योंकि केंद्र सरकार भी यही चाहती थी कि बड़ी मुश्किल से सभी ने मिल कर दिल्ली में स्थिति को नियंत्रण में किया है। होटल खोलने से कहीं केस दोबारा से बढ़ न जाएं। इसलिए उन्होंने अच्छे विचार से ही मना किया था। लेकिन मैंने उन्हें समझाया और कहा कि यह ठीक नहीं है, पूरे देश में जहां कोरोना बढ़ रहा है, वहां पर तो होटल खोल दिए गए और जहां पर कोरोना कम हो रहा है, वहां पर होटल बंद कर रहे हैं। यह तो विरोधाभाषी है। हमारे काफी प्रयास के बाद अंततः दिल्ली डिजाॅस्टर मैनेजमेंट अथाॅरिटी की बैठक हुई, जिसमें होटलों को खोलने का फैसला लिया गया।

Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal held a meeting with the hotel associations in Delhi and said that all the stakeholders have to work together to overcome the challenge of Delhi’s economic revival. The meeting came after the decision to open the hotel industry in Delhi was taken by the Delhi government, after the approval by the Centre. The representatives of various hotel associations of Delhi thanked and lauded the efforts of CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal and the Delhi government in supporting the hotel industry in Delhi. CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal also thanked the hotels for supporting the government in enhancing the capacity of beds to inculcate more patients when the Corona was at its peak in Delhi.
Following the meeting, the Chief Minister’s Office Delhi tweeted, “The hotel associations of Delhi met with Hon’ble CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal and thanked the Delhi government for opening hotels in Delhi. Hon’ble CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal said all stakeholders have to come together in strengthening Delhi’s economy.”
Addressing the representatives of the hotel associations, Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal said, “We have to think about two challenges, first is how to end the spread of the pandemic, and the second is reviving the economy of Delhi because businesses have been shut down and jobs have been lost due to the pandemic. I want to thank the entire hotel industry because when Corona was at its peak in Delhi, we had attached the hotels to the hospitals in Delhi to increase the capacity of beds in the national capital. It was very important because a large number of beds were not available with us for the treatment of Corona patients initially. We received huge support from the hotel industry in Delhi. We tried to bring everyone along with us in our fight against Corona, be it our political rivalries, opposition, or friends, we kept aside all the politics and joined hands in our efforts. In various cities, many private hospital owners had shut down their hospitals. But in Delhi, we joined hands with all the hospitals, listened to their concerns, and solved them. All hospitals, hotels, and religious and social organizations supported us in our efforts. Today, our situation is under control.”
“I am happy that since June 1, when the Central government had opened the lockdown, and after we went ahead to lift the lockdown in Delhi on their directions, we did not have the need to re-impose the lockdown in the capital. This is because we did detailed planning. Once the lockdown was lifted on June 1, we did feel that the situation was getting out of hands for 15-20 days, but we took the support of all and reinstated normalcy and control in Delhi,” added the CM.
CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal said that even though the central government was against the opening of the hotel industry in Delhi out of a fear that the cases might rise again, it was a very important step in reviving the economy of Delhi. He said, “The Central government was against the idea of opening the hotel industry in Delhi, and I would not blame them because the Centre must have thought that the cases might rise again. But I explained to them that the hotels are functioning in areas where the cases of Corona are rising in the country. Either the Centre should shut the hotels down across the entire country, or open it in the region where the situation was Corona is under control.”
CM Arvind Kejriwal said that after many attempts, last week, the central government allowed the opening of hotels in Delhi, and the decision was taken in a DDMA meeting two days back. The decision was taken in a meeting of Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) on Wednesday. Following the decision, many hotel and restaurant associations have thanked CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal.
