रूस के मॉस्को में मेट्रोपॉलिस ओलम्पियाड में पदक जीतने वाले बच्चों को उप मुख्यमंत्री ने किया सम्मानित
शिक्षा मंत्री ने अधिकारियों एक ओलम्पियाड सेल बनाने के निर्देश दिये जो ऐसे बच्चों की पहचान करके उन्हें आने वाले समय में और अवसर देगा।
उप मुख्यमंत्री मनीष सिसोदिया ने दिल्ली के विभिन्न सरकारी स्कूलों से रूस के मॉस्को में आयोजित मेट्रोपॉलिस ओलम्पियाड में भाग लेने वाले 20 बच्चों से अपने कार्यालय में मुलाकात की। इनमें से हर्षिता और सत्यम नाम के दो बच्चों ने देश में पहली बार किसी सरकारी स्कूल के स्टूडेन्ट होते हुये मॉस्को ओलम्पियाड में पदक (केमेस्ट्री में कांस्य) जीता है। सोमवार को आयोजित इस मुलाकात में बच्चों के अभिभावक और शिक्षक भी शामिल हुये।
उप मुख्यमंत्री ने बच्चों से बात करते हुये कहा कि “मुझे यकीन है कि आने वाले समय में आप सब बेहतरीन नागरिक बनेंगे और आपकी शिक्षा और इस सफलता में देश द्वारा दिये गये योगदान के बदले में आप जो कुछ भी संभव हो सकेगा वो इस देश के लिये करेंगे।”
शिक्षा निदेशक और राजकीय प्रतिभा विकास विद्यालय जहां से 8 बच्चे इस ओलम्पियाड में चयनित हुये थे वहाँ के शिक्षकों की मांग पर उप मुख्यमंत्री श्री सिसोदिया ने इस तरह की प्रतियोगिताओं के लिये 14 से 18 वर्ष की आयु के बच्चों को स्पेशल ट्रेनिंग देने के लिये स्पेशल सेल बनाने पर सहमति जताई।
राज्य के सरकारी स्कूलों में पढ़ने वाले 14 से 18 साल तक के बच्चों को इस ट्रेनिंग के लिये चयनित किया जायेगा क्योंकि इस उम्र सीमा के बच्चे ही इस तरह की प्रतिस्पर्धाओं में भाग लेते हैं। उप मुख्यमंत्री ने मैथ्स, फ़िज़िक्स, इन्फॉर्मेटिक्स सहित तमाम ऐसे विषय जिनके लिये ओलम्पियॉड आयोजित किये जाते हैं उनके देश भर से विषय विशेषज्ञ बुलवा कर प्रतिभावान विद्यार्थियों को राष्ट्रीय व अन्तरराष्ट्रीय ओलम्पियाड के लिये तैयार करने की भी सहमति जताई।
राजकीय प्रतिभा विकास विद्यालय, नई दिल्ली के 12वीं क्लास के दो बच्चों हर्षिता और सत्यम ने इस ओलम्पियॉड में व्यक्तिगत प्रतिस्पर्धाओं में काँस्य पदक प्राप्त किया है। जबकि उनके साथ गयी बच्चों की पूरी टीम ने मॉस्को में आयोजित अन्तरराष्ट्रीय ओलम्पियॉड में ट्रॉफी भी जीती है।
बच्चों ने अपनी सफलता का जश्न उप मुख्यमंत्री के साथ उनके कार्यालय में केक काटकर मनाया। मुलाकात का समापन उप मुख्यमंत्री व बच्चों के बीच बातचीत और फोटो सेशन के साथ हुआ।

Deputy CM and Education Minister Mr. Manish Sisodia felicitated winners of the Olympiad of Metropolis held in Moscow, Russia at his office in Delhi.
Dy. CM Manish Sisodia asked the officials to plan for an Olympiad Cell, which would identify and hone students for such opportunities in years to come.
Dy. CM Manish Sisodia met and interacted with the 20 students of various Delhi govt. schools, who participated in Olympiad of Metropolis, held in Moscow this year. Two of these students, Harshita and Satyam became the first students from any govt. school of India to win a medal (Bronze, in Chemistry) at Moscow. The parents and teachers of these students accompanied the students to Dy. CM’s office on Monday.
“The people of this country have contributed for your education and this success that we are celebrating today, do not forget to give back to the people of this country in whatever way you can.” he said to the students, while talking about their journey & aspirations.
Addressing the demands of the Director of Education and the teachers of Rajkiya Pratibha Vikas Vidyalaya from where eight students had participated in the Olympiad, Mr Manish Sisodia agreed to set up training cells exclusively dedicated to train students from age group- 14 to 18 years for these competitions.
Students of 14 to 18 years of age, from state run government schools, would be selected to undergo this training as it is this age group which participates in Olympiads. Hon’ ble Deputy CM also agreed to invite experts in subjects ranging from Maths to Physics to Informatics from across countries to help prepare these meritorious students for the upcoming national and international Olympiads.
Two students (Satyam and Harshita of class 12th) studying at RPVV , New Delhi bagged bronze medal in individual category – Chemistry and the whole group from India went on to win a trophy in the International Olympiad held in Moscow.
The students celebrated their success with the Education Minister by cutting a cake with him in his office. The meeting concluded with an informal interaction of the Dy. CM with the students over snacks and a photo session.
