दिल्ली के उप मुख्यमंत्री मनीष सिसोदिया ने एक प्रेस वार्ता में पत्रकारों को संबोधित करते हुए कहा, कि “मैंने भाजपा नेता एवं केंद्रीय मंत्री प्रकाश जावड़ेकर जी का बयान सुना, सुनकर मुझे बड़ा ही दुख हुआ कि केंद्र सरकार के एक मंत्री, इतने संवेदनशील मुद्दे पर इतना बड़ा झूठ बोल रहे हैं”। “मैं आश्चर्यचकित हूँ, कि इतना बड़ा झूठ बोलते हुए प्रकाश जावड़ेकर जी को जरा सी भी हिचकिचाहट नहीं हुई”। मनीष सिसोदिया ने कहा कि एक ऐसा मामला जिस के फैसले का इंतजार पूरे देश की जनता, हमारी न्यायिक व्यवस्था, निर्भया के माता-पिता, देश की हर लड़की, हर लड़की का भाई, हर लड़की के माता-पिता कर रहे हैं, आप इतने संवेदनशील मुद्दे पर झूठ बोल रहे हो।
मनीष सिसोदिया ने कहा कि दोषियों को जल्द से जल्द फांसी दिलवाने के पक्ष में दिल्ली सरकार है। केंद्रीय मंत्री प्रकाश जावड़ेकर जी पर पलटवार करते हुए मनीष सिसोदिया ने कहा कि पुलिस प्रशासन आपके हाथ में, गृह मंत्रालय आपके हाथ में, तिहाड़ जेल का प्रशासन आपके हाथ में, डीजी की नियुक्ति आपके हाथ में और आप कह रहे हैं कि दिल्ली सरकार ने नहीं किया। मैं आपसे पूछना चाहता हूं कि दिल्ली पुलिस आपकी जिम्मेदारी है या नहीं है? दिल्ली में कानून व्यवस्था को अमल में लाना आपकी जिम्मेदारी है या नहीं है? तिहाड़ जेल के डीजी की नियुक्ति और तिहाड़ का प्रशासन आपके हाथ में है या नहीं है? जब कभी आप की चोरी पकड़ी जाती है, तो आप लोग अपनी गलतियों का ठीकरा दूसरों पर फोड़ कर जनता को बरगलाने में लग जाते हो, आप लोग अपनी जिम्मेदारी लोगे या नहीं?
हम जानते हैं कि दिल्ली में चुनाव हैं और आपके पास न तो कोई मुद्दा है और न ही आपने ऐसा कोई काम किया है, जिसके आधार पर चुनाव लड़ सको, आपके पैरों तले से जमीन खिसक गई है। लेकिन इतने संवेदनशील मुद्दे पर इतनी घटिया बयानबाजी मत करो प्रकाश जावड़ेकर जी। आप पूछिए गृह मंत्रालय से, अमित शाह जी से, कि दिल्ली पुलिस का कंट्रोल अमित शाह जी के पास है, तो उन्होंने अपनी जिम्मेदारी क्यों नहीं निभाई? आप अमित शाह जी से पूछिए कि जब तिहाड़ का प्रशासन उनके अधीन आता है, तो उन्होंने कोई कार्यवाई क्यों नहीं की, क्यों वह अपनी जिम्मेदारी से भाग रहे हैं?
मनीष सिसोदिया ने केंद्रीय मंत्री प्रकाश जावड़ेकर जी से प्रश्न पूछते हुए कहा, जब आपकी जिम्मेदारी थी, तो आपने कार्यवाई क्यों नहीं की? यदि आप से कुछ नहीं हो पा रहा तो मात्र 2 दिन के लिए पुलिस प्रशासन दिल्ली सरकार के अधीन दे दीजिए, हम निर्भया के दोषियों को फांसी पर चढ़ा कर दिखाएंगे।

Senior Aam Aadmi Party leader Mr Manish Sisodia on Thursday condemned the falsehood of Central Minister Mr Prakash Javadekar over the execution of Nirbhaya case convicts. He said that the Delhi govt is of the view that the sentence must be carried out at the earliest and that the Delhi govt had immediately rejected the mercy petition and sent it to the LG. Mr Sisodia stated that BJP is blatantly lying to save the failure of their administration and if they handover control of Delhi police to the AAP govt, the sentence would be carried out within 48 hours. He also asked Mr Javadekar to enquire with the union home minister, about the delay in the matter.
Mr Sisodia said, “ This morning, I was busy filing my nomination and was asked by media to respond to statements made by Mr Prakash Javadekar in his PC. I watched visuals of his PC to find out what what said and it really pained me to see a Minister in the Central Government blatantly lying on such a sensitive matter and that too, before the entire nation and surprisingly, with no hesitation whatsoever. This is a crucial and sensitive matter, with everyone including Nirbhaya’s parents and the women of this nation waiting for justice to be delivered and they lie so blatantly about it “
He said that the Delhi government is in favour of time-bound conviction and execution of rapists, as per due process. But how can the BJP blame us for any delay?
“ I want to remind Mr Javadekar, that the BJP led government and the Home ministry directs and controls the police and is responsible for law and order in Delhi and for administration of Tihar jail. The DG of Tihar reports to you and then you blame us for the delay? I want to ask you , Mr Javadekar will you take cognizance of your responsibilities of jurisdiction of Delhi Police, maintaining law and order in Delhi and the administration of Tihar jail and the appointment of its DG or are you going to suddenly deny these responsibilities ? Whenever your failings and inefficiencies are highlighted and your irresponsibility comes under scrutiny, you begin to mislead people just when elections are on the anvil, to somehow use it to cover up your bungling and inefficiency,” said Mr Sisodia.
“ I know that you have no issues to talk about, for the welfare of people, no body or proof of real work done and you stand on really shaky ground, but please display some decorum and sensitivity and desisit from making such shameless statements on a deeply sensitive matter. You should ask your Home Ministry and Amit Shah ji on why this execution couldn’t be carried out, when they have control over the police and Tihar administration. Why is Amit Shah ji abandoning his responsibility? Why are you lying to the people just before elections? You are misleading people. I want to ask you why your government delayed the matter, why are you not taking the responsibility for this delay? And if you are unable to fulfil your duties, I am reiterating, give us the control of Delhi police for two days and we will make sure that convicts in Nirbhaya case are executed . Why do you keep questioning us, when you have kept the control of police, law and order and prison administration under your jurisdiction ? Please do not mislead people by making baseless allegations and untruthful statements just before the elections to gain some brownie points ,” said Mr Sisodia.
