पार्टी मुख्यालय में हुई एक प्रेस वार्ता के दौरान आम आदमी पार्टी के वरिष्ठ नेता दुर्गेश पाठक एवं विधायक दिलीप पांडे की मौजूदगी में दिल्ली यूथ कांग्रेस के उपाध्यक्ष एवं विधानसभा चुनाव 2020 में महरौली विधानसभा से कांग्रेस के प्रत्याशी रहे श्री महेंद्र चौधरी जी ने अपने सैकड़ों कार्यकर्ताओं संग कांग्रेस पार्टी को छोड़, आम आदमी पार्टी की सदस्यता ग्रहण की। दुर्गेश पाठक एवं दिलीप पांडे ने सभी गणमान्य लोगों को आम आदमी पार्टी की टोपी एवं पटका पहना कर सभी का पार्टी में शामिल होने पर स्वागत किया।
पत्रकारों को संबोधित करते हुए दिलीप पांडे ने कहा कि आम आदमी पार्टी का जनता के प्रति समर्पण और दिल्ली के लोकप्रिय मुख्यमंत्री जी द्वारा किए गए अद्भुत विकास कार्यों का ही यह नतीजा है, कि दिल्ली में कोई चुनाव नहीं है फिर भी भिन्न-भिन्न राजनीतिक दलों के लोग, अपनी-अपनी पार्टियां छोड़ आम आदमी पार्टी का दामन थाम रहे हैं। उसी कड़ी में आज आदरणीय महेंद्र चौधरी जी अपने समस्त साथियों के संग आम आदमी पार्टी में शामिल हो रहे हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि महेंद्र चौधरी जी एवं उनके साथियों के आम आदमी पार्टी के साथ जुड़ने से केवल आम आदमी पार्टी का परिवार ही बड़ा नहीं हो रहा, अपितु पूरी दिल्ली में पार्टी का संगठन मजबूत हुआ है। दिलीप पांडे ने कहा कि मुझे पूरी उम्मीद है कि जो साथी गण आज पार्टी में शामिल हुए हैं, यह सभी दिल्ली में आम आदमी पार्टी के लक्ष्य को पूरा करने में पार्टी के साथ कंधे से कंधा मिलाकर चलेंगे और पूरी ईमानदारी के साथ दिल्ली की जनता की सेवा करने में अपना योगदान देंगे।
प्रेस वार्ता में मौजूद आम आदमी पार्टी के वरिष्ठ नेता दुर्गेश पाठक ने पत्रकारों को संबोधित करते हुए कहा, कि जैसा कि सभी जानते हैं आम आदमी पार्टी युवाओं की पार्टी है, तो मुझे बेहद खुशी हो रही है कि आज एक और युवा शक्ति आम आदमी पार्टी के इस संगठन में शामिल हो रही है। महेंद्र चौधरी जी और उनकी टीम कई वर्षों से लगातार दिल्ली में गरीब, मजलूम और पिछड़े लोगों के हक के लिए आवाज उठाती रही है, जमीनी संघर्ष करती रही है और ऐसे संघर्षशील युवाओं की पूरी टीम आज आम आदमी पार्टी में शामिल हो रही है, यह हमारे लिए सौभाग्य की बात है। दुर्गेश पाठक ने कहा कि भाजपा शासित नगर निगम ने जिस प्रकार से पूरी दिल्ली को भ्रष्टाचार का समंदर बना दिया है, आने वाले निगम चुनाव में महेंद्र चौधरी जी की टीम और आम आदमी पार्टी मिलकर इस भ्रष्टाचार के खिलाफ पुरजोर तरीके से संघर्ष करेगी।
पत्रकारों को संबोधित करते हुए महेंद्र चौधरी जी ने कहा कि आज मैं यहां एक ऐसी क्रांति के साथ जुड़ने आया हूं जो आने वाले समय में पूरे देश में फैलेने वाली है। उन्होंने कहा कि 17 साल के कांग्रेस के साथ किए संघर्ष के पश्चात मैंने आम आदमी पार्टी में शामिल होने का निर्णय लिया, तो उसके पीछे केवल और केवल एक ही कारण है, वह है इस कोरोना महामारी काल में आम आदमी पार्टी और माननीय मुख्यमंत्री श्री अरविंद केजरीवाल जी का दिल्ली की जनता के प्रति समर्पण। जो भी शासक होता है उसके शासक होने का परिचय आपदा के समय में दिखाई देता है और जिस प्रकार से दिल्ली में कोरोना महामारी के समय में मुख्यमंत्री अरविंद केजरीवाल जी ने सारी स्वास्थ्य व्यवस्थाएं, गरीबों को मुफ्त भोजन, राशन, प्रवासियों को उनके घरों तक पहुंचाना, ऑटो वाले तथा अन्य मजदूरों के खाते में पांच-पांच हज़ार रुपए डालना जैसी सहायता दी, उसकी चर्चा न केवल दिल्ली में, अपितु पूरे देश में हो रही है। तन मन और धन का वचन तो सभी देते हैं, मैं अपनी आत्मा के साथ इस पार्टी की सेवा करूंगा, पार्टी के संग कंधे से कंधा मिलाकर जनता की सेवा करूंगा और किसी भी प्रकार से कोई ऐसा कार्य नहीं करूंगा जिससे कि दिल्ली और देश में पार्टी की छवि को क्षति पहुंचे।

Addressing a press conference at the party headquarters on Thursday, senior Aam Aadmi Party leader Shri Durgesh Pathak and MLA Shri Dilip Pandey welcomed the Vice-president of Delhi Youth Congress and Congress candidate from Mehrauli assembly in assembly elections 2020, Shri Mahender Chaudhary
to Aam Aadmi Party. Shri Mahender Ji joined AAP along with several other ex-volunteers of the Congress. Shri Durgesh Pathak and Shri Dilip Pandey welcomed all the new leaders to the Aam Aadmi Party.

Shri Mahender Chaudhary Ji and his team have been consistently raising voice for the rights of the poor, the religious and the backward people in Delhi for many years, they have been struggling to erase these issues on the ground and that the entire team of such struggling youths is joining the Aam Aadmi Party today, it is a privilege for us. The manner in which the BJP-ruled Municipal Corporation has made the entire Delhi a sea of corruption, Mahender Chaudhary Ji’s team and Aam Aadmi Party will fight strongly against this corruption in the forthcoming corporation elections.”
Addressing the media, Shri Mahender Chaudhary Ji said, “Today I have come here to connect with a revolution which is going to spread all over the country in the coming time. He said that after a struggle of 17 years with Congress, I decided to join the Aam Aadmi Party. There is only one and only one reason behind why I did that, that is the service of the Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal Ji and Aam Aadmi Party’s service to the people of Delhi. The real face and intent of a leader can only be seen in the time of a calamity, and how Shri Arvind Kejriwal Ji has provided all amenities to the people during the Corona pandemic, like health facilities, free food to the poor, ration, transporting migrants to their homes, providing assistance of Rs. 5000 to auto-rickshaw drivers and laborers, it is being discussed not only in Delhi but all over the country. All people may swear on mind, body, and money, but I swear on my soul and say that I will serve this party, serve the people shoulder to shoulder with the party and will not do anything in any way so that the image of the party in Delhi and the country is damaged.”
