Letter to LG demanding Rs 1 cr compensation to policemen killed

Former Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal’s letter to the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, Mr Najeeb Jung, appealing for a compensation of Rs one crore each to the families of Delhi Police ASI Nagender and constable Prahlad who were killed on duty at Kalindi Kunj in South-East Delhi in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Kejriwal has also requested the LG that the third policeman, constable Kaptaan, who was badly injured on duty, when a car ran over all three of them as they tried to stop it at a barricade, must be given best medical treatment and his family should be adequately compensated.

Kejriwal has appealed to the Lieutenant Governor to treat police personnel killed on duty as martyrs, and has reminded the LG that Aam Aadmi Party government in Delhi had made a policy of granting Rs one crore compensation to the families of policemen killed while performing their duties.
