AAP candidate Pankaj Singh refutes funding allegation published in an Indian Express story

Given below is the response of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate from Sidhi Lok Sabha constituency of Madhya Pradesh, Pankaj Singh,  to a front page news story published in The Indian Express on June 11, 2014, titled ‘IB report to PMO: Greenpeace is a threat to national economic security’ :

1) I strongly refute the false news story published by The Indian Express with the headline "Funding AAP candidate to Mahan Study". The news story suggests that Greenpeace has funded this AAP candidate in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections. I repeat again this is baseless. My decision to contest elections had nothing to do with Greenpeace. I already had resigned much before my name was announced as an AAP candidate for Sidhi constituency on 1st March 2014. The two dates are very different and Greenpeace was not involved in any way. Rumours about AAP West Bengal Unit

There was a completely false media report yesterday about AAP's West Bengal unit merging with BJP. AAP didn't have a state unit set up in West Bengal yet, unlike in other states and had contested from only 4 seats in recent Lok Sabha elections. A false propaganda was started by BJP's WB state unit after few individuals joined them. AAP supporters and volunteers in west Bengal are fully with us and we ask media to report more responsibly after checking the facts correctly. Read More
