SET -UP/HIRE A CALL CENTRE FOR EXTENDING TO HELP SC/ST STUDENTS SEEKING SCHOLARSHIPS- CHIEF MINISTER DIRECTS SC/SC DEPARTMENT

Delhi Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal today took a review meeting to take stock of the disbursements of SC/ST Scholarship in Delhi. The meeting was attended by the Chief Secretary and the Secretary of the SC/ST Department.

Shri Kejriwal instructed to set-up/hire a call centre for helping SC/ST students/applicants for seeking SC/ST Scholarships. He also asked the officials to ensure that SMSes and IVRs are sent to all applicants for the said scholarships. The call centres will be trained to execute the task in a flawless manner. They will be tasked with getting in touch with all applicants of the scholarship and solve their issues.

A helpline number should be issued to the applicants to submit their complaints if any in getting the scholarship, said the Chief Minister. He further directed that all calls to the helpline should be recorded and transcribed and all grievances should be resolved within 48 to 72 hours of the complaint lodged.

The Chief Minister expressed unhappiness over the delay in disbursal of SC/ST Scholarships last year and said that it should not be repeated. He directed the Chief Secretary and the departmental Secretary to take all measures to ensure that the scholarships are disbursed smoothly and on time.
